The goal of the parish council is to improve the well being and quality of life of those living and working in the St Buryan, Lamorna and Paul parish.

St Buryan, Lamorna
and Paul Parish Council

St Buryan, Lamorna and Paul Parish Council consists of 12 elected councillors all of whom are volunteers and unpaid. The councillors are supported by a salaried parish clerk. The council meets on the third Monday of each month at either St Buryan Village Hall or Lamorna Village Hall.

The council is responsible for providing local services such as the cutting of footpaths and bridleways and receives its primary income the Parish Council precept, grants from Cornwall Council, and grants from Central Government.

Issues with Highways and and services provided by Cornwall Council should be reported directly to them via: REPORT IT

The Parish Council is a consultee on planning applications. However, the final decision of planning matters is made by Cornwall Council.

We aim to understand the needs and concerns of residents via:

  • increased involvement at our monthly parish council meetings
  • feedback via this website
  • emailing the Parish Clerk
  • open dialogue between residents and individual councillors

Only then can the parish council be a strong voice representing the views of local people as a whole.

Meeting Dates 2024-25

We serve the local community by playing an active role in safeguarding the heritage and character of the parish. We make decisions on behalf of local people in the best interests of the community or negotiate and influence those other organisations that make the final decision.

Our vision over the next two years is to produce a Neighbourhood Development Plan (NP) in consultation with the community, which will then be subject to a local referendum, so that future generations of residents can continue to enjoy and feel proud about living and working in the parish.
