Tree Planting at the Community Growing Space at Kew Pendra

Tree Planting at the Community Growing Space at Kew Pendra

St Buryan Lamorna & Paul Parish Council have sourced fourteen mixed native trees for the Community Growing Space at Kew Pendra. A small team from the Parish Council were on site at the end of March 2025 to plant them. Forest for Cornwall (Cornwall Council) helped source the free trees, and supplied the guards, mulch mats, and stakes – for which a big shout out!

Thank you too to the local person who has been mowing the grass at Kew Pendra! Please do get in touch, so we can thank you in person. Contact clerk@stburyanlamornapaul-pc.gov.uk or call 07756 991696.

The trees are all grown locally at the Kehelland Trust: they have grown the oaks from acorns at Tehidy. There are Crab Apple, Rowan, Silver Birch, Field Maple, Sessile Oak, Hawthorn, and Hazel. They were selected to help feed the birds (if the rabbits and muntjacs don’t beat them to it) and increase biodiversity in the Parish.

Thank you to the Councillors who could turn out for the planting session :)
