Following the public notice published on 21 December 2023 in respect of a casual vacancy on St Buryan, Lamorna & Paul Parish Council, no requests for an election were received by Cornwall Council.
As such the Council can fill these vacancies, by co-option, as provided for by Rule 8 of the Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) Rules 1986.
To become a Councillor you must satisfy at least one of the following qualification categories:
(a) is registered as a local government elector for the parish;
(b) has during the whole of the preceding twelve months occupied as owner or tenant, any land or premises in the parish;
(c) his/her principal or only place of work during the preceding twelve months has been in the parish;
(d) had during the whole of the preceding twelve months resided in the parish or within 4.8 km thereof.

Interested parties should submit an expression of interest, setting out why you would like to join the Council, to stblppc@gmail.com no later than 12th February 2024 . You will then be invited to speak at the next Full Council meeting on 19th February 2024, at St Buryan Village Hall, where a vote will take place.
