Playground Update

Playground Update

The St Buryan playground has so far seen the following improvements:

  • New bow top fencing and gates to create a “No Dogs Allowed” play area
  • A new Single Tower
  • A new Basket Swing and Baby Swings
  • The Yellow stainless steel slide moved to the amphitheatre.

Further work will take place before the Community Picnic being organised to celebrate the Kings coronation on 6th May 2023. This will involve giving a fresh coat of paint to the original playground equipment.

Last year the Parish Council submitted an Expression of Interest form to Cornwall Council asking for monies from their Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) fund. The CIL fund was heavily oversubscribed, but nevertheless the Parish Council were invited to submit a full application for monies to be spent on the St Buryan playground.

The Parish Council are delighted to have been awarded £20,000 from the CIL fund to purchase more equipment and landscape the play area. We are in discussions with the Community House, but this work should take place from the middle of May onwards with the aim to have a fully transformed St Buryan playground before the end of 2023.
