The Parish Council and Community House have jointly embarked on a project to transform the existing St Buryan Playground. Orders for new playground equipment have been placed with SouthWestPlay based in Newlyn.
The plan is to install one basket swing on the existing double steel frame, with new stainless steel hangers and safety chains. New baby swings and swing chains will be installed onto the other side of the double swing frame.
The existing stainless steel slide will be reused by moving the slide section to the amphitheatre. The top of the slide will have a decking platform take off area, rubber safety grass mats will be positioned at the bottom of the slide and reclaimed sleepers will be set into the bank with a pull up rope.
A Single Tower (as per attached photo) with a roof and safety rails, a plastic slide at one end, a Burma bridge at the other end and a climbing wall one side with resin moulded climbing stones will be installed on the wetpour safety surface after the existing slide has been removed.
The existing roundabout and seesaw will be removed and replaced with other smaller pieces of playground equipment from SouthWestPlay at a later date.
