There were plenty of activities in the Parish to celebrate the Queens Platinum Jubilee; St Buryan held a party at the Community House which was attended by all generations who took part in the games and activities and had a thoroughly good time. Many thanks goes to Helen Wilson-Prowse and the volunteers at the Community House for all their hard work organising the party and ensuring everyone had a great time. Additionally, £250 was raised from the raffle which will be split between purchasing spare pads for the defibrillator at the gym and the Playing Field.
The Church held a Jubilee Celebration Exhibition with a beautiful display of wedding, christening and celebration memorabilia along with cream teas and their Thanksgiving Service. The Church Bells were also ringing a special tune for Her Majesty.
Lamorna held a very successful Jubilee afternoon tea and Pimms at the Village Hall; attended and enjoyed by over 50 people. Huge thanks to everyone who contributed food and helped out – the event raised £427 for Village Hall funds.
There was also a Jubilee Picnic at the Millennium Triangle, with BBQ’s and even a best party hat competition!
