St Buryan Feast

St Buryan Feast

St Buryan Feast was celebrated in the village over the weekend of 13th – 16th May.  For many years it has been a quieter affair compared to how it popular is used to be, but was brought back this year with a bang!

The weekend began with a Feast Variety Concert at the Village Hall, which raised over £600 for Marie Curie, followed by a Barn Dance supported by the Young Farmers Club, additionally there was singing with the Male Voice Choir at the St Buryan Inn.

Saturday kicked off with a joint Church-Chapel Feast Fete, followed by Children’s Day at the Community House where the artwork done by the children at the school was displayed once again, and John Brolly Storyteller paid us a visit to regale us with his fabulous stories.  There was plenty for the children to do and a fantastic turnout once again by the village.  The evening was spent dancing, drinking and eating at either the pub, the Community House or at the Feast Supper held at the Village Hall.

Sunday the Church and Chapel held their Feast Services and we had a fabulous 4 hour full peal of Feast Bells by the bell ringers.

On the final day, the Chapel held an afternoon cream tea, and hosted a concert by the Pipers Choir – a truly wonderful end to what was a very successful and enjoyable weekend for all.
